The Klamath is already producing decent steelhead numbers and anglers are reporting healthy catch rates of half-pounders with the occasional 5 pounder being caught. Chinook salmon are still abundant in and available in the upper but only fish under 22 inches may be retained until the Iron Horse hatchery gets their egg take. Then retention may open back up again. Still, there are plenty of fish available and drifting roe or beads has been the most effective methods of catching them.
