2019 Sacramento River Fishing Report:

It’s time to catch a rainbow on the Sacramento River

Lots of Rainbows in the river right now. Over the last week, some pretty good numbers have been caught making the Sac a go-to for some decent trout fishing. From Redding to Andeson has been the hot spot with tons of hungry rainbow going after spring hatches. Fly fishing is very productive as well as fishing traditional baits as well as hardware.

Striper fishing in the Colusa area has really taken off! Lots of limits being caught and these are not only hard fighting fish, but they are also good eating as well. There are about three weeks of good striper fishing left and the record class fish will start showing up the second half of the season. It’s definitely a great time to target stripers on the Sacramento.

Lake Shasta some big browns are being caught. We’re talking fish in excess of 20 inches. making Lake Shasta well worth the trip for some big brown trout fishing.
