The fishing was pretty tough on the Big Quil today! There are sun up and tapped out at 1:30 PM. Only about 6 fish entered into the campground hole. That has been the best producer for me personally this year. Lots of chum to contend with though. Down at the wall hole, I got one. Not many entering the wall hole today as the tribes were dip netting them before they could enter the hole. The Rogers Street hole was pretty active as well but straight up combat fishing.
I held back from that action and worked the Big Quil Estates property and was lucky enough to get out with 3 out of 4. The last one just chomped my Orange Crusher bead. Literally inhaled the hook. Took a while to dig out of its gills. The other two I got on a Stone Cold Beads double bead set up with a little yarny.
I’d say there is about a week of good fishing left on the Big Quil, The rain forecast for this weekend could push them up. If you head up to the Big Quil stop and say hi! I look forward to seeing you there.
