The Cowlitz is one of the few river systems in Washington currently producing catch rates for Steelhead. With decent summer steelhead numbers heading back out to the ocean and a few winter steelhead trickling in, the Cowlitz is probably one of your best bets if you’re looking to target winter steelhead right now. However February – April will be when the bulk of the Winter Steelhead stocks are in the river.
