The water on the Cowlitz is high and green with about 3 feet of visibility, there is a decent number of winter steelhead by the Blue Creek hatchery as well as Springers in the lower river. Side-drifting for steelhead using beads is very effective. When fishing for springers a diver and eggs/coon shrimp work great as well.
