2017 Skykomish River Fishing Report:




Skykomish River (near Reiter Ponds) re-open for fishing

Action: Re-opens portions of the Skykomish River around Reiter Ponds to fishing for trout (steelhead) and gamefish.

Effective dates and times: Jan. 26 through Feb. 15, 2017.

Species affected: Trout and gamefish.


  • Skykomish River: From 1,500 feet upstream to 1,000 feet downstream of Reiter Ponds outlet.


Other Information: Please refer to the 2016/2017 Washington Sport Fishing Rules regulation pamphlet for the current rules.

Reason for action:  This emergency rule is needed to reopen the Skykomish River near Reiter Ponds and the Wallace River. The winter steelhead egg take goals for the Snohomish hatcheries have now been met.
