2017 Quilcene river fishing report:

Got to the river before sun up today and thought it might be a bust. Not many coho left in the river and the ones that are there were in pretty rough shape. Myself and a couple of the other guys were still able to eek out our limits, but is was fairly difficult with all the chum in the river. There were tons of dead chum everywhere and the stink was almost more that I could stand. That’s a part of the game though, so I fished it hard and got the win. Managed to get a couple that were pretty bright and a few with some color but not to bad compared to most of what is in the river right now.

As with anything, all good thing must come to an end, this will be my last fishing report for the Quilcene river this year. Over all it was a good season, lots of Coho came up the river and the fishing was great. I already look forward to next year in hopes of another great season like this one, but we will have to wait till then. As always thank you for reading our Lunker’s Guide fishing reports and fish on!
