Today was one of the faster ones. I got to the river at around 6:30 AM. and was headed home limited out at quarter after 7:00 AM. Someone had commented on one of my reports the other day, stating that the tribes netted all the fish out of the river. From what I see every day, the tribes are catching theirs and the sport fishery is thriving as well. So many fish in the river it’s hard not to catch them. Besides my limit, I had three catch and release chum and two coho that spit the hook.
The fishing is great right now on the Big Quil, the only question is for how long? Water visibility was poor, pretty cloudy in the hole, but clear in the flats. Also it’s a bit colder in the morning now, dress warm if you like to hit it early. If coho is the name of the game, the big Quil is definitely worth the trip.
