2014 Wallace river fishing report: Wallace river salmon season opener begins tomorrow 9/16/2014 Coho retention is allowed from the mouth to 200′ upstream of the water intake of the Salmon hatchery. Traditionally opening day on the Wallace offers excellent Coho opportunities as well as the occasional Steelhead. This year the Coho are running a bit late. Many areas are seeing the Coho run start a week to two weeks later than normal. Stay tuned for future reports as we will be pumping out the message as soon as they start running hot and heavy.
