Balck River Fishing:

 The Black river is located in Thurston County and originates at Black Lake just outside of Tumwater. Approximately 25 miles in length the Black River drains out into the Chehalis River and is home of several species of Salmon and Trout.

The key attraction for anglers on the Black River is the robust Coho salmon runs that occur every year. Salmon season on the Black river generally go from (October-January) offering Silvers at above average size.

This fishery is still a relatively hidden gem and does not require full combat fishing gear, but polarized glasses are still recommended. Black River fishing access can be found in our fishing maps below. Although there are only a few public Fishing areas on the Black river if you like Coho it’s well worth the trip.
