2017 Cowlitz River Fishing Report:

The Cowlitz River hatchery is reporting decent numbers of Spring Chinook in holding tanks. Right now they have had over a 5000 spring chinook in the traps for the season, with around 1000 fish still in the tanks. To date they have released almost 4000 fish back into the Cowlitz river system, meaning there should still be plenty of fish in the river.  The catch rates, however, have been hit and miss but some anglers are still putting fish in the boat. We at The Lunker’s Guide rate the Cowlitz as good to moderate fishing at this time.

This concludes our  2017 Cowlitz River fishing report.
