Anti-snagging rule in effect on the Big Quilcene River
Action: Anti-snagging rule in effect.
Effective Date: Aug. 20 through Oct. 31, 2016.
Species affected: Salmon.
Location: All waters of the Big Quilcene River from Rodgers Street to Highway 101.
Reason for action: The anti-snagging rule is intended to improve enforcement efforts and reduce impacts of hooking mortality on Endangered Species Act-listed summer chum.
Other information: Other rules within the Big Quilcene River remain unaffected by this emergency rule.
