2016 Dungeness River Fishing Report:

WDFW FISHING RULE CHANGE

Dungeness River opens to sport fishing for hatchery coho Oct. 16

Action: The river will be open from the mouth to the hatchery intake pipe at river mile 11.3.

Effective date: Oct. 16 through Nov. 27, 2016.

Species affected:  Hatchery coho salmon returning to the Dungeness River.

Location:  The Dungeness River downstream of the hatchery intake pipe.

Other information: Daily limit 4 hatchery coho only (marked with an adipose fin clip); minimum size 12 inches; release all wild (unclipped) coho and all other salmon.

Reason for action: In-season information indicates coho salmon have returned in sufficient numbers to provide for hatchery broodstock needs and a sport fishing opportunity.

Information contact: Mike Gross, District 16 fish biologist, (360) 249-1210.
