The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife ahs issued a rule change for the Cowlitz River Steelhead season. As of 04/01/2015 hatchery steelhead retention will increase from 2 fish per day to 3 hatchery steelhead allowed. The area affected is from the markers at the mouth up to 400ft before the hatchery at the Barrier Dam.
